In-home photography sessions have my heart. I love galavanting through the city with my camera or exploring the beautiful parks and beaches in SFL. In-home sessions hit differently, though.
What makes in-home sessions so special?
I love the intimacy and vulnerability of being allowed into my client's homes--their safe space. Getting to see little pieces of them all in one place, that imperfectly tell their story.
In-home sessions are comfortable for you and your family because you are in your own space. I get to capture a slice of your day-to-day life during this season. The experience will feel relaxed, simple, and genuine.
We will get to have fun together. We don't have to worry about your makeup melting, the baby getting fuzzy, sweat marks all over your partner's shirt, or getting rained on mid-session. If the toddler spills juice on their outfit, you can grab a new outfit from the closet. If the baby needs to be fed, we will pause for feedings and you'll have everything you need within reach. In-home sessions are rarely rescheduled due to weather conditions, the only exceptions are if it's unsafe for me to drive to you or if there's absolutely no light out.
Your photos will be unique and as personalized as can be because no one has your home. You'll be able to include all the pieces of you that can be found throughout your home.
The images will capture raw emotions and take you back to that very moment every time you see them.
Who are in-home sessions for?
I think everyone should have an in-home session at least once at every home they live in. Our homes say so much about us, who we are, what we value, and the stage of life we are in.
In-home sessions are ideal for maternity and newborn sessions. It makes the experience so comfortable for mamas to be and tiny babies.
As a millennial, who bought a home in this crazy market, and had an in-home session to celebrate--I think homeownership should be documented through images.
Does my home have to be Pinterest-perfect?
A big misconception is that your home has to be Pinterest-perfect. It really doesn't! I'm a natural light photographer, which means I don't use flash or any other form of artificial lighting. I simply use the light from the sun to create natural-looking imagery. Most of our sessions will take place in rooms that have windows and sliding doors that allow for the light to come in. If you have a balcony, backyard, or cute porch, we will take advantage of those spaces too.
If you think your home is not up to par, maybe you are undergoing renovations, have limited space, or lack natural light sources. I will provide you with a list of local studios that have a homey feel to them. In Miami, we have quite a few homey studios to choose from depending on your style and vibe. We will have the entire studio space for ourselves providing you with privacy, comfort, and ease. You can always bring items from your home, like mugs or your guitar, to make it feel more like you.
